Ards Peninsula Ju Jitsu Clubs embraces a number of clubs and schools in the Ards Peninsula area. The main club – Ards Ju Jitsu Club – is one of three centres of excellence for Ju Jitsu in Northern Ireland and is based at Ards Leisure Centre.
The Ards Peninsula Ju Jitsu clubs are affiliated to the World Ju Jitsu Federation Ireland and to the World Ju Jitsu Federation, which practises in 42 countries around the world. The clubs are also affiliated to the NIJJA (Northern Ireland Ju-Jitsu Association), the governing body for Ju Jitsu in Northern Ireland, and are recognised by the Sports Council of Northern Ireland.

Club Instructors
All of the instructors in the Ards Peninsula clubs hold nationally recognised qualifications and use up to date, modern teaching methods. Instructors who teach children’s classes have taken courses in child protection legislation and in coaching methods for young children.
About Ju Jitsu
Ju Jitsu is a highly effective martial art encompassing all aspects of punching,kicking, blocking, throwing, grappling and joint-locking. While the focus is on unarmed combat, as students progress to higher grades in the syllabus they also train with weapons such as the sword (katana and bokken), the staff (bo), rice flails (nunchuka), and the tonfa.
