MESSAGE FROM GRAPPLING TEAM

Dear Coach,
The grappling team will be running a training session on Sunday 24th February in the Dojo from 11am to 1pm with a cost of £5. This is to get everyone up to speed with our new points system which we will be implementing at the next grappling competitions for all ages in May.

We are always working to develop the grappling side of Ju Jitsu and the new system is designed to improve everyone's skills by encouraging more movement and less stalling in positions. It will also give competitors, coaches and parents of competitors a clear understanding of who won and why.

If competing isn't your thing, the points system also gives everyone an understanding of the most dominant positions for fighting/defending yourself on the ground eg the positions that get the most points allow most control, have more options for submissions and also, in self defence, give you a greater chance of escape to your feet.

Some members of the grappling team have been using points in their classes recently for back to back with the kids and adults and it has proven to be very successful in improving students grappling skills.
If you are unable to attend please send someone from your club - an assistant coach or some of your students so we can get everyone familiar with how it works.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Regards,

The Grappling Team
