Junior Green Belt Syllabus

Required Techniques

NB. A thorough knowledge of the White, Yellow and Orange Belt syllabus (including all variations) is required before a student is permitted to grade for Green Belt.

  1. Back scissors throw (crab claw).
  2. Recumbent ankle throw.
  3. Wrist throw.
  4. Escape from bear hugs (2) from rear under arm.
  5. Escape from bear hugs (2) from rear over arm.
  6. Escape from bear hugs (2) from front under arm.
  7. Escape from bear hugs (2) from front over arm.
  8. Three arm locks from a standing position.
  9. Shoulder arm lock.
  10. Variations on shoulder throws.
  11. Escapes from full nelson.
  12. Escapes from half nelson.
  13. Front scissors throw.
  14. Knee wheel
  15. Basic strikes.

Tzuki - Punch
Geri - Kick
Za rei - Kneeling bow
Ritsu rei - Standing bow


Anatomy - Head and Shoulders

Clavical - Collar bone
Scapula - Shoulder blade
Frontal - Forehead
Nasal - Nose
Temporal - Side of head between eye and top of ear
Maxilla - Upper jaw bone
Mandible - Lower jaw bone
