Ju
Jitsu Experience
1986
- introduced to Ju Jitsu by Sensei Graham Piper, who took Alan to Ards
Ju Jitsu where Sensei Raymond Shaw was club coach. Alan was immediately
hooked on Ju Jitsu and has never looked back. He trained under Sensei
Shaw for 6 years and also under Sensei Mark Noble at Avoniel, on average
4 to 5 times a week.
1990 - Black belt (1st DAN)
1991 - took over Ards Ju Jitsu from Sensei Shaw
September 1991 - became a professional coach
1993 - 2nd DAN
1996 - 3rd DAN
2002 - 4th DAN
2004 - 5th DAN

Sensei
Petticrew now spends most of his time coaching, but still enjoys the training
on Fridays and also attending the National Headquarters regularly in Liverpool
with Sensei David Toney (6th DAN, Senior Coach Northern Ireland), where
they take private lessons with Professor Robert Clark and Sensei Alan
Campbell, Senior National Coach, UK.
Sensei
Petticrew is in charge of Ards Peninsula Ju Jitsu clubs, which have training
sessions in Ards, Kircubbin, Comber, and Donaghadee. There are now over
400 members, ranging in age from 5 to 60 years.
Ju Jitsu is practised in a friendly atmosphere and everyone is made to
feel very welcome. |
